The C2M Mumpreneur Awards 2011

It is on again and I am so proud to once again be a part of the Connect2mums awards. This is the third year running that I have either been a finalist or winner.

Each year these awards celebrate women in business. This year they have added a Peoples Choice category and Lunalei is a finalist in Best Customer Service and Best Boutique/Store categories.
Winners are selected by a voting process held at Connect2mums - the most likes determines the winner.

So it is up to the people to support their favourite business. I must say there are some awesome - amazing business's that are involved in the awards - all owned and operated by women.

Mumpreneurs – It’s Your Time to Shine

Imagine yourself as a magazine cover star, respected speaker and representative of a national organisation? This and many more accolades are what await the winners of Connect2Mum’s AusMumpreneur Awards.

The first Connect2Mums AusMumpreneur Catherine Oehlman is still basking in the glory of winning this award last year and encourages all Australian businesses to nominate for the awards – and not just mums in business.

Since being crowned (with a tiara) the 2009 AusMumpreneur, Cath has enjoyed stronger readership at http://squigglemum.com and increased attention from the media, making her a sought-after blogger and interviewee.

“Everything changed for me the night I won the Connect2Mums top award,” Cath explained.

“I stopped seeing myself as a teacher-turned-mum with a blog, and started seeing myself as a mumpreneur with an emerging business.

“It not only changed the way others saw me but also the way I saw myself,” she said, encouraging others to put themselves forward.

“Nominating yourself is about saying, ‘This is who I am, this is what I'm doing and this is why others should know about my business.’ I believe there are times to be humble, and there are times to stand up proudly. These awards are an opportunity to shine.”
